Author Explores the Intricate Layers of an Infamous Michigan Crime

Fans of true crime and legal thrillers are in for a treat as author and former Army Judge Advocate Eugene Milhizer visits Chippewa River District Library's Veterans Memorial Branch on August 7 at 6 p.m.

 

Milhizer's book, Dissecting Anatomy of a Murder, provides unique insight into the trial, book, and movie based on one of the most famous criminal trials of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and the 20th century.

 

"We are thrilled to have Eugen Milhizer joining us," said Christiana Folsom, programming coordinator at CRDL. "We're excited to hear him discuss his insights into this case based on his research and legal expertise."

 

During his visit, Milhizer will guide the audience through the early life and career of lawyer John D. Voelker (pen name Robert Traver, Anatomy of a Murder), a detailed comparison of the real-life case, and an intense legal analysis of the pivotal issues that led to the trial results. Drawing from his experience and extensive research, he will share captivating inside stories and anecdotes to educate and captivate the audience.

 

"Anatomy of a Murder is an interesting story," said Folsom. "To hear Eugene analyze this case makes it even more interesting."
