Computer Use
All Chippewa River District Library branches provide free access to computers. No library card needed, request a guest pass at the front desk. All computers connect to the Internet and have Microsoft Office Suite.
We also have an enhanced tech station for individuals who may need special software or need assistance. Check with a staff member for more information.
Computers in Children’s Services are reserved for children up to 5th grade and their caregivers.
Computers in the Teen Scene are reserved for middle school and high school students.
Laptops
*Not currently available.
Adults can check out a laptop for up to four hours within any of our library locations. A library card is required. Laptops must stay within the location they are borrowed from and should never be left unattended. Documents can only be printed via CRDL Mobile Printing.
Cardholders are responsible for loss or damages.
On-Site Printing, Faxing, and Copying
All library branches have printing, copying, scanning, and faxing available. All copy machines and printers produce black & white or color copies, double-sided copies, and oversize copies (legal size and 11x17).
There is no charge for scanning services. There is no charge for scanning services. However, you must save your scanned file to a flash drive or a cloud-based storage service. You can bring your flash drive or temporarily borrow one to send your files via email.
Local and long-distance faxing is available at all branch locations.
Prices (Per Side)
- Black & white: $0.20
- Color: $0.40
- Scanning: Free
- Faxing: Free for outgoing faxes. $1 for every five pages of incoming faxes.
Mobile Printing
You can print to a library computer using your personal desktop, laptop, or mobile device. The cost is $0.20 per side for black & white and $0.40 per side for color. For more details and instructions, see our Mobile Printing page.
Public Wi-Fi
All Chippewa River District Library branches provide free Wi-Fi access. Connect to the Public network, open your browser, and agree to the terms of use. No password is required.
Technology Assistance
Technology help is available in person by scheduling a 1-hour appointment with a staff member. Call 989-773-3242 ext. 202 to set up your appointment.
