Program Description

Embark on your family-friendly edible adventure when you visit Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market this summer and pick up your own free Cook the Kit. Each Cook the Kit includes:

  • A featured farm-fresh recipe.
  • Pantry ingredients.
  • A voucher to purchase your farm-fresh produce ingredients at the farmers' market.

This month's Kit is available for pick up during the THURSDAY Farmers Market at Island Park OR the SATURDAY Farmers Market at City Hall at 320 W Broadway St. Kit pick up is located at the Cooking Demonstration.

Cook the Kit will be available once per month for pick-up at the Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market on select Thursdays at Island Park and select Saturdays at Mt. Pleasant City Hall. Please check in at the Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation tent near the cooking demonstration. While we may have some extra kits available the day of, we strongly encourage everyone to reserve their Cook the Kit in advance by registering here. One Kit per household, please. Due to fresh produce availability and storage constraints, kits not picked up after Saturday's market date will be available to marketgoers on a first come, first served basis the following week. Unfortunately, we cannot predict the growing season. If the featured produce is unavailable, you may use your produce voucher at another market during the 2024 season. You must register each month for a kit.

Cook the Kit: Farm Fresh Flavor is made possible through a community partnership with the Chippewa River District Library, Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market, and McLaren Health Plan.
